Personal story

Two years ago, I went to Galicia with my rowing team. We had to compete a Spanish competition against ten rowing clubs which were the best.
All started in Basque competition. We rowed against Orio, Illunbe and San Juan in Portugalete. We arrived the third one. Firstly Orio arrived, then Illunbe, later us, Getaria and lastly San Juan.
We did not do our best, we tried, but it was not our best competition.  However we classified to Spanish competition.

At first of May we took the bus and we went to Galicia. It was the first experience that I had with my team. We were seven in the team, but we had to compete 4 and the skipper.
We arrived there in 9 hours and we went to our Hotel. We stayed there for three days.
The first day, it was a training day. We train very well, but all others clubs, they was fabulous. We did not have hope to enter in the round of honour.
The second day was a classified of the honour’s round. We competed against two Galician’s club and against Illunbe, our rival.
In five, four, three, two, one the rowing regatta started. We were very nervous. It was four longs. In the first long we were the last. But passing the minutes we were catching others. It was amazing. Then I screamed with all my strength to cheer my team. And we won! We could not believe it. We cried of emotion. It was the best feeling of the world.
We were classified for honour’s round in SPANISH COMPETITION.
The third day was a last competition. We did not win, but we were very excited that we won the first regatta.

Teenagers´ worries

Regarding teenagers´ stage, there are different opinions. There are people who think that this stage is beautiful, the best stage. However, there are people who have bad memories from this period. Speaking about teenagers´ worries, I can separate in two parts, appearance and the future.

On the one hand there is our appearance; we are worried about what we are going to wear today or how about our new style of wearing. Our society is the best critic and it makes us to wear these dresses or those trousers. The society judges us by what he sees. And also, we are very worried about what people think about us.

On the other hand the future is the big problem or worry that we have. We are worried which what can be happen in the future, such us what we are going to study, about the friendship, about the new family…
We want the best and the most comfortable life, and if it wasn’t like we want, we would feel very frustrated.

To sum up I want to say that teenagers have to take a lot of difficult decisions. So my piece of advice is to do that your heart tells you.

Malala Yousafzai

Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani girl who was shot by one Taleban for defending her studying rights. This attack had been happened about two weeks ago, when she was going to her house and suddenly she was shot by an extremist Taleban, after the prohibition for girls to assist to school.

Regarding my personal opinion, these kinds of attacks are unacceptable and it must be prohibited in all cultures, like it is prohibited in my country. It is not logical to shoot a person who defends his rights or simply defends his ideas, and whenever she is one girl who wants to study.

In the same way, I sincerely think that Malala Yousafzai is a very bold girl; she wants study over her possibilities. This attack which has received Malala has touched everyone in the world and this helps us to open our eyes and to not think in a secondary problems, like what kind of phone we have.

To sum up, I want to emphasize that it should be prohibited to use the violence against the ideas or events that each person have. And I am successful knowing that Malala will be having one education which she always wants, because she is going to remove to Europe to study.

Dear FutureMe

How’s everything going? I’ll be 25 years old and I’m writing for to know if you’ll be doing well, as thought in the past.

These are the things I expect you’ll be doing. You’ll probably finish a degree and you’ll be working in a school like a teacher, or the opposite, you’ll be working in one hotel like a receptionist in somewhere that isn’t Basque country. I’m thinking that you’ll be living on abroad where you’ll have practiced your English. I’ll hope that you’re enjoying the work but I also hope you went into it because you wanted to and not because you expected to.

Maybe your life will have turned out quite differently. Maybe you’re living on abroad and you’ll have news friends and new style to live. But you have to be like you were later; you have to be positive and very sure of yourself.

Here’s some advice and good wishes from “present me”: Try to be a happy person and do the things that you feel like doing without fear. Enjoy your time and travel a lot to the places you have always dreamed. Be happy.

And what about the rest of the world? Did they do something to sort out the economic crisis? Did they do something to sort out the environment? Did they invent something incredible?

Look after yourself,

Leire

Been 17

How do you feel being seventeen?

Last weekend I went to a camping with friends to stay there for three days having fun. When we arrived, the receptionist told us that to enter there, somebody of us have to be 18 and have to sign.
I am bored of depending on somebody who is 18, but also I think that there are some advantages to it.

On the one hand, the first positive thing of being seventeen is that you don’t have to work and you don’t have some responsibilities. Another positive thing is that you have a lot of holiday and you can spend your free time with your friends, family, etc.

On the other hand, there are negatives things, obviously. The cons of being seventeen, and no eighteen, are that you have to depend of somebody who is an adult to do things, like to go from one place to another by a car, to travel around the world, to buy a lot of things… But the worst thing of being eighteen is that you have to pay everything that you want, like a bill.
And of course, you have to work a lot.

To sum up, I think that being seventeen isn’t the best feeling; I’ll prefer to be eighteen for be more independent.
